The main objective of the Courthouse Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment for not only the employees of the court house but also its visitors.  Everyone’s cooperation is needed in order to achieve this very important goal.

The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office courthouse security team is comprised of 3 part-time deputies.  This unit is comprised of law enforcement officers that screen visitors for weapons, cell phones and video equipment.  The courthouse has limited access and signs announcing prohibited items in place.

When you enter the courthouse you will have to go through the metal detectors that are staffed by the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office Courthouse Security.  In order for this process to be efficient, the following guidelines will help you enter the building.

  • No Weapons of any type are allowed.
  • No knives, scissors or anything with a cutting edge may be brought into the building.
  • No Cell Phones
  • No Cameras
  • Remove all items from your pockets, and place in a tray provided, before you pass through the metal detector.

This procedure is done as a matter of safety.  These procedures are not meant to harass or exclude anyone.  Cooperation is the key to maintaining a secure atmosphere for everyone in the building.
