Autauga County, AL - On Thursday, September 20, 2018 around 1:43pm the Autauga County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous call of possible child abuse in the 2500 block of County Road 46, Prattville, AL.  The caller stated they had information that a juvenile was being abused in the home by being restrained with chains.  Deputies and Investigators responded to the residence where they found a 13-year-old male juvenile naked with chains padlocked around his ankles.  The chains were attached to a door preventing the juvenile from normal movement.  Subsequent investigation revealed that the juvenile had been restrained by this method over a long period of time.  Two other juveniles, 12 and 5 years of age, were also removed from the residence along with the 13-year-old.  All three children were turned over to the custody of the Department of Human Resources.

Three adults were taken into custody and have been charged with Torture/Willful Abuse of a Child under 18;  Danielle Nicole Martin the mother, Joshua Daniel Martin the step-father and Vickie Seale Higginbotham the grandmother.  All three adults were placed in the Autauga Metro Jail under a $15,000 cash bond each.

Further charges may be forthcoming as a result of this ongoing investigation.
