Autauga County, AL – On Sunday, November 4, 2018, around Noon the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a subject shot on Laurel Hill Dr., Prattville, AL.  As deputies and investigators responded to the residence located in the Pine Level area, it was discovered that a female juvenile had been shot.  Alyssa Davis, a 9 year old student at Pine Level Elementary School, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham where she was pronounced deceased from her injuries.  Sheriff Joe Sedinger states “This appears to be a very tragic accident, but this case is still under investigation.  Our prayers go out to the family of Ms. Davis.”

Information received from Principal Harry of the Pine Level Elementary School; Counselors are available at the school if any students need someone to talk to about this tragic situation.

Sheriff Sedinger urges all parents to lock up your firearms to keep them out of the hands of young children, and to prevent another tragic accident like this from happening.
